Solution for two LER (Local Equipment Room) with HVAC

(Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioners) in an hazardous area

A large manufacturer of compressors was in need
of a LER (Local Equipment Room) for one of their
projects. Stahl / Electromach received the request
to develop a solution for two LER’s with HVAC
(Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioners) suitable
for installation in a hazardous area and complete
with a fully redundant cooling system. In addition,
the HVAC units should run at all times during full
operation of the LER’s.

Our client
Our client is a leading supplier of systems for power
generation, operating in over 200 countries. They
offer a wide spectrum of products and solutions for
power generation, the efficient production of ener-
gy through the use of fossil or renewable materials
and the reliable transport of oil and gas. Their prod-
uct portfolio includes gas turbines, steam turbines,

A fully redundant HVAC package
Two independent operating HVAC units provide
the climate control and a continuous pressure of
50 Pa in the LER. In addition, the HVAC system
ensures a minimum of five air changes per hour and
an inside temperature which is between 15 and 22
°C. The units are easy to de-connect from the LER
