• Oil&gas
GuardEon helps oil&gas customers minimize the risk of arch flash by working with GE’s ArcWatch
coordination system, which is significant, considering that 16 percent of all fatalities at oil fields were
caused by an electrical accident, explosion, or burn.

• Mining
Mining customers can reduce their losses and improve overall efficiency with GuardEon through its
predictive maintenance capability. By implementing a predictive maintenance program, miners can
reduce maintenance cost by 30%, reduce downtime by 45% and reduce breakdowns as much
as 75%. Consistency of productivity is not to be taken lightly in the mining industry, as can be
susceptible to losing nearly $180,000 in each incident of unplanned downtime.
• Marine
In marine applications, an arc-flash event that takes place in the middle of the ocean can result in
severe ship fires. Isolated at sea, there is no fire department nearby to help contain and reduce the
damage caused by an arc-flash event. If it is not mitigated quickly and effectively, or prevented all
together, the results can be catastrophic.
