Techint E&C ha completato a Yanbu, in Arabia Saudita, un imponente progetto di material handling,
per un valore di 260 milioni di dollari, per conto di Saudi Aramco. Si tratta di una parte essenziale nella
costruzione di una delle più grandi raffinerie del Medio Oriente, che sarà in grado di produrre 400mila
barili di greggio al giorno. Il progetto ha riguardato la realizzazione di un sistema di movimentazione,
stoccaggio e caricamento su nave del carbone e dello zolfo, prodotti dalla raffineria come derivati nel
procedimento di lavorazione del greggio. In particolare, per lo zolfo che viene prodotto in forma liquida,
è stato messo a punto anche un processo di solidificazione. Gli elementi sfidanti del progetto sono stati
la realizzazione di un sistema di 5 km di conveyor con raggi di curvatura sfidanti, che hanno consentito
di rispettare alcuni vincoli ambientali, e la costruzione di storage bulding, a campata unica e fino a
