IMAGRO Construction has completed the construction in Egypt of two new power plants
for energy production of 4800 megawatts for each (New Capital and Burullus) in part-
nership with Siemens and the conversion from a single cycle to a combined cycle
of two other existing plants from 750 total megawatts (Assiut and West Damietta) in
partnership with General Electric.
The plants were commissioned by the Egyptian government through the EGYPTIAN
ELECTRICITY HOLDING COMPANY, final client of all the power plants. The 4 projects
were fully guaranteed by SACE for a value of 700,000,000 euros, with most of the
supplies furnished entirely by Italian vendors. Imagro Construction Srl, which already
coordinates various elements of the supply chain and promotes the deliveries of Italian
SMEs, is also involved in the study and development of other infrastructural projects
forthcoming in the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa. The structure created is in fact
innovative and convenient, and facilitates the relationship between the EPC contractors
and Sace, significantly contributing to the success of the business activity; and with the
large number of Italian SMEs involved offers an unlimited pool of Italian branded prod-
ucts with high technological contents with significant advantages for EPC contractors
wishing to get interfaced with the national market and Sace.
