Aaron Denman
Aaron Denman is a partner based in Bain & Company’s Chicago office. He is a leader in Bain’s Utilities & Renewa-
bles, Strategy, Energy & Natural Resources and Performance Improvement practices.
Aaron has led client engagements addressing a range of topics, including corporate strategy, growth strategy, go-
to-market strategy, merger integration, performance improvement, organizational design and change management.
Prior to Bain, Aaron spent four years at Eli Lilly & Co in a variety of finance and business development roles, including
support of Lilly’s Japan, Canada, Mexico and AMEA operations. In addition, he served as an advisor to the CEO for
a clean-energy start-up in Indianapolis, where he helped commercialize Article 1 of a “mobile microgrid” for a US
military installation.
Aaron earned an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA in mathematics from Wabash
College.
Peter Meijer
Peter Meijer is the director of our global Chemicals practice, based in Brussels. He is also a member of our broad-
er Energy & Natural Resources practice and our Sustainability & Corporate Responsibility practice.
Peter is an expert on chemicals trends and industry developments and manages the intersection of our firm’s capa-
bility and chemicals expertise. He also is a leader in Bain’s effort to address transversal sustainability themes, with
deep focus on plastics sustainability and hydrogen.
Peter joined our firm in 2004 and previously worked in our Amsterdam and Sydney offices. He has deep expertise
across industry sectors in growth strategies, M&A, and organizational alignment to deliver on company priorities.
He has additionally led various diligence, blueprinting and value creation efforts for Private Equity clients.
Peter holds an M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering from Technische Universiteit Delft.
Peter Parry
Peter Parry is the chairman of our global Energy and Natural Resources practice, based in Milan.
He has extensive experience across strategy development, technology management, operations and commercial
negotiation. He has worked extensively with the energy industry’s leading players for more than 30 years, including
international majors, national oil companies, independent oil, and oilfield and engineering service companies.
Peter has a particular interest in strategies for corporate growth and shareholder return performance. He has exten-
sive experience in advising oil majors and national oil companies on developing and implementing growth strategies.
He has also assisted companies in developing technology portfolio management strategies and long-term technolo-
gy investment plans, as well as more closely integrating technical service activities, R&D and field operations.
Prior to joining our firm, Peter led the global upstream oil and gas business of another top consulting firm. He formerly
served as managing director of another firm’s UK consulting and R&D business, manager of the energy corporate
finance team of a UK merchant bank, and as a technical specialist for a geophysical consultancy.
Peter is a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators and the Petroleum Exploration Society
of Great Britain.
He holds a B.A. in Economics and Geography from Lancaster University.
Mark Porter
Mark Porter is a partner in Bain & Company’s London office. He is the leader of the firm’s global Chemicals practice,
leads the Performance Improvement practice in London and is an expert in the Public Sector & Government and En-
ergy & Natural Resources practices.
With nearly two decades of management consulting experience, Mark advises industry leaders on their biggest op-
portunities and challenges, putting processes and operating models in place to support their objectives.
As the head of Bain’s Chemicals practice, he has honed deep functional expertise within the chemicals, energy and
downstream industries, where he advises distributors of commodity and specialty chemicals, lubricants and petro-
chemicals to develop methodologies that deliver results.
Mark holds extensive experience in strategy development and implementation, complexity and cost reduction, mul-
ti-year transformations, growth strategy and asset investment appraisals. He also specializes in all aspects of M&A,
such as due diligence, post-merger integration and portfolio management. His clients include both corporations and
private equity investors.
Prior to joining Bain, Mark worked with Imperial Chemical Industries in a series of operations and general manage-
ment roles.
Mark holds an MBA from IMD Switzerland, where he was a Dean’s List scholar. He also received a master of engi-
neering degree, with First-Class Honours, from Imperial College.
