Marco Caruana

Laureato presso la Facoltà di Economia e Commercio dell’Università di Genova, Marco Caruana ha
maturato un’esperienza trentennale nel settore del project cargo Freight forwarding, presso primarie
aziende italiane e multinazionali, in Italia e all’estero. Da maggio 2018 riveste il ruolo di Project Director
per Multilogistics Spa.

Domenico Longano

Vanta un’esperienza nel settore Freight Forwarding di oltre 27anni, iniziata nel settore aereo per poi spe-
cializzarsi nel settore Heavy Lift Project, che segue da oltre 15 anni con passione e dedizione, Worldwide.
Ha vissuto per diversi anni in Medio Oriente, dove ha ricoperto il ruolo di Chief Operation Officer presso
una società con sede a Dubai. Ricopre ora il ruolo di Senior Project Manager presso Multilogistics Spa.

Last March 2022, after months of studies, inspections and roads survey, we successful completed the
transport of two rings with a diameter of 8350mm x 8350mm x 1100mm weight 135tons & 128tons.
Due to the extraordinary size and weight of the cargo, the authority in charge requested various en-
gineering appraisals, solicitation of the artifacts with double jacks, core boring for material removal,
video inspections of the road layers and related chemical laboratory analyzes. Appraisals carried out
by specialized and certified companies appointed by us.
For road transportation, 4 + 16 hydraulic axles with a total length of 34.30m were used, it took two
nights to complete the first part of the journey up to the river port of Mantova, which required the use
of 9 vehicles cars of escort and technical assistance for the entire route, in additional supported by
the highway police for closing 25km of motorway part in order to allow the night transit of convoys in
complete safety.
Once reached the river port, the rings were accommodate on stools and then taken up by SMPTs for
transferred to the quay for subsequent lifting up for embarkation onto a barge for transfer by river up
to the port of Marghera.
Once reached the port, after having completed all the necessary authorizations, the barge was posi-
tioned alongside the ship, in order to start boarding operations from the barge directly on the ship and
thus be able to continue and finish the journey in the Far East.
